Emergency alert from South West Police District: WILDFIRE.
There is a fire in the Koløy and Korsvik area, and you may be in a dangerous area.
There is heavy smoke, and the forest fire is not under control. Evacuation has been initiated in the upper part of Korsvik. Spectators and residents must keep a safe distance from the smoke and otherwise follow orders and instructions from emergency services.
Call emergency services only in case of an acute need for help or life-threatening situations.
Further information about the incident is updated continuously in the police log at politiet.no or via the media. -
Important warning
The safety zone to the fire in Øksfjord is now lifted and evacuees can now return home safely.
The fire scene remains closed off and the fire services will continue to extinguish the fire during the night.
It is requested that the public in the area keep activity near the sire scene to a minimum. Residents are advised to use Parkveien and Kirkeveien as alternative routes.
